Summertime!!

I guess it's not quite summer yet, but Megan's last day of school was today, so we're officially on summer vacation! She's going to miss her new friends, but I will not miss our crazy mornings twice a week. We need the break!! When school starts up again in the fall, Megan will be going five times a week and Bridget will join her twice a week. My job description as a stay-at-home mom will soon be changing to kid-schlepper/taxi driver, so we'll soak up every bit of this summer vacation.

At Megan's preschool today, the kids had a little party and Bridget was invited to sit with the "big kids," too. Here they are eating their snack,

and then working on a little art project.

If Megan has learned nothing else this year, she's learned to always replace the pen cap after she's done using it. What a good student :)

Back in the car, Megan was excited (to say the least!) and Tessa was pooped!

The girls had a special meal of chicken nuggets and french fries when we got home. And, aren't Megans's little buns cute? ;)

Megan has grown so much this year! I didn't realize just how much until I looked for a picture of her first day of school. She looks so young here (and her little sidekick Bridget looks even smaller!),

and so much older now!
Megan is now learning to read with her set of BOB books, which she loves. She's also come a long way artistically! These two pieces of work are from the beginning of the year,

and the end of the year:

Another little Megan nugget? She's apparently some kind of Disney movie savant. I popped in the most random Disney CD ever made while getting the girls dressed to leave the house today. It's Volume 3 in the collection of Disney hits, and it includes songs from little-known 90's gems like Hercules and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I'm almost ashamed to admit that, upon the first playing of this CD today, Megan immediately recognized every song. Yup, she's seen everything from Aladdin to The Nightmare Before Christmas, and can pick out the hits from anything she's seen even just once. Our little dance party was capped off with a boisterous, "I'm going to go to every movie theater and watch every Disney movie ever made!!! Yeah!!" We have quite the ambitious little four-year-old on our hands. Watch out!

LOVE her artistic growth! And she does look so much bigger than she did in the fall! Crazy!
