What a Difference a Pound Makes

At 8.5 months, the babies are between check-ups at the pediatrician, but I've been really curious about their weights, especially since Tessa seems noticably bigger than Annie lately. So, while Megan was at preschool today, I took my assistant Bridget to Day One to weigh them. Day One is this really cute boutique/resource center for new moms located about a block away from CPMC, where we delivered all four kids. They have lactation consultants available there, and classes going on all the time. They have a great weigh station area with changing tables, too. Very convenient!! It's very hard to not buy anything there, and escape with just a weigh-in, but I managed today, mostly becasue my assistant was no longer being quite so helpful, and I had to hightail it out of there.

As for the weigh-in, it went well. Since the weighing area is right in front of a glass wall, behind which was a class full of expectant moms attending a class, I could feel all eyes on me as I undressed and weighed the babies while trying to keep Bridget occupied. Needless to say, I made it as fast as possible.

It's mostly brand new moms and tiny babies who frequent the shop, so Tessa and Annie were literally tipping their scale at:

Tessa -- 18 pounds, 4 ounces (50th percentile)
Annie -- 17 pounds, 4 ounces (30th percentile)

Exactly a pound difference!

No pictures from today, but here's a cute one of the twins from this weekend (Tessa on the left):

I have to admit, I was a little bit afraid this post was going to be about the fact that my skinny jeans didn't fit last week. Phew!

I weighed Olive last week and she was at an even 16. Of course, this was with our fancy digital scale, with me holding her and than without. I don't want to discuss my weight (please see aforementioned skinny jean disaster.)
