We've been busy the last few weeks, and one of the highlights was a Stecher apple-picking excursion to celebrate Grandma's birthday. We all traveled to Placerville, and enjoyed the fall tradition of traipsing through an orchard and filling buckets of apples. This was a new experience for almost all of us since we don't have apple farms anywhere nearby.
The girls loved it, and set to work filling their individual buckets.
Maybe we should have reconsidered all of those buckets, though. It's a good thing Matt is such a good sport and such a work horse!
We managed to get all of the cousins together for a group shot, although we're missing five little East Coast cousins :(
When we'd decided we had enough apples, we all enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch,
and then headed towards all of the activities. We never made it to a pumpkin patch this year, so this was perfect! We let the girls choose one activity each. Bridget and Annie both chose to ride a horse,
while Tessa and Megan chose to run through the hay maze. They got their $2 worth from this activity! They could stay in there as long as they wanted -- and they did! We were all waiting for a while for them to finish up, long after Bridget and Annie had taken their lap around the horse arena.
No activities for Mary yet! She was busy being happy and charming :)
Happy Birthday, Grandma! We all had a blast celebrating your birthday!!
